Student Field Evaluations – Simplified with Tevera

Evaluating your students’ skill development is an essential part in making sure that they are developing essential skills in their field experiences. These evaluations also allow you to demonstrate student success to your institution and accrediting bodies! But, keeping track and making sure that evaluations are completed consistently and reliably can be a hassle when you have many students in your program.

Tevera is here to simplify this process, making it easy and more efficient for important competency evaluations to be completed and reviewed by everyone involved. The process of completing evaluation forms in Tevera is streamlined from start to finish. The assignment routing system ensures that evaluations are being delegated and routed to the correct users for completion and review. Evaluation forms won’t be marked completed until all users have reviewed and electronically signed the document, as per your intended workflow. This is a great way to ensure that no reviewers have been missed in the process!

How We Do It

With Tevera’s automatic assignment routing features, students can delegate evaluations to their field supervisors and other appropriate reviewers in just a couple quick clicks!

The document’s workflow is pre-set for the students based on the form and assignment’s setup. Since Tevera understands the connections between students and their instructors and supervisors, the system will help ensure that the document gets to the right person at each stage of the workflow. 

From the moment this step is complete, the document will move smoothly from one individual to the next until everyone who needs to complete, sign, or review the form has done so! 

After the student delegates the form, the field supervisor (or other evaluator) will receive an email notification that the student is ready to be evaluated. From there, they can click a direct link to the form from their email, or they can log into their Tevera account to evaluate the student and sign off at the bottom of the form.

After the field supervisor has completed their portion of the evaluation, the evaluation then gets automatically passed back to the next signer, typically the student, for them to see the review. This reviewal process is helpful for students in supporting their ongoing skills development and helping them to distinguish what specific areas they might need more assistance in.

All the evaluation rating fields are “locked” after the evaluator signs the form. This ensures that data is not tampered with or changed when other reviewers enter the form.

Additional reviewers can also be added to the process! For example, program faculty can be included as well so that they can oversee how their students are progressing toward competency benchmarks in their practicum or internship experiences.
